World Dental History Month is
almost here!
This is our Second Year celebrating the special month of April
to count the blessings of our Legacies, and to ‘raise the Bar higher’ for what’s ahead!
And we
Celebrate openly!
For sure, the Arts, the Sciences, and the Futures of Dentistry are looking even more full of
Promise and Prominence!
Challenged with simply reducing pain and suffering during Times Long Ago, our Profession
has evolved, and we have developed the technology-rich solutions
which can replenish Function,
highlight Aesthetics,
and predictably Prevent many problems in our Patients of the World.
Our Global Successes can only continue through the honorable collaboration of Dental Schools,
the many Deans, Professors,
Instructors, and Students,
Dental Materials Research Scientists
(Chemistry is everything!),
the whole teams of all of the Practicing Clinicians,
the Dental Associations
of the World’s
Countries, the crucial Dental Continuing Education
Industry, the many indispensable Dental Supply Companies,
and especially the Museums,
which catalogue, classify, and curate
tangible evidence of past attempts to advance
the restoring of Mouth Functions
and to present serious representation
and reenactments of our Ancient and
Dramatic Predecessors!
But more than half of the World’s almost 8 billion people don’t receive any dental care, with many
millions suffering from toothaches on
any given day!
However, our Profession has risen to the occasion before, and we shall find the Will, through both Policy and Manpower, to
correct this disparity of Care!
From the Founder of
World Dental History Month,
Ralph Winge, D.D.S., USC Ostrow '77
